It raises estate settlement to a whole new dimension.
Barley Wistrom has done well in life, at least her business
life. Now she has decided how her estate will be disbursed
when the time comes to leave this ol’ world.
-
Was Barl's departure from this world premature?.....
-
What limits are there for winning an estate--or are there any?.....
-
Does death follow those playing the shadow game?......
Always creative, “Barl” devises a new game based
on the trivia of her life. She brings her vision of life--and
death--to the game board. Those who remember her best will
get the most, so the rules of the game go.
To hear her talk, Barl believes that memories are the shadows
of the mind, and of life. When she speaks of shadows she is
thinking memories, always lurking somewhere in the recesses
of the mind.
After her death, Barl's spirit watches over those she invited
to participate in her game of shadow trivia, delighting in
the interaction between those closest to her. Since it's winner
takes all in each of six categories, the competition shows
no mercy.
The Shadow Game - a suspenseful comedy that takes estate
settlement into a whole new dimension.

Movie Treatment
Five people - four family members and Barl's caretaker
- play “The Shadow Game,” a
game that determines who gets what part of the estate.
The
estate is that of an older woman who became quite wealthy
through her business acumen. She always wondered who really
cared about her, so she devised this game to see who knew
her and to determine the division of her life’s efforts.
The game takes place over a weekend in a ski lodge
one week after the funeral. The participants of the game learn
about how the estate will be divided the day of the event
when Timothy reads the will.
